First release of BlackFlare — a menu bar companion for Claude Code and Codex.
Added
- Keep Mac awake — your Mac stays awake while a Claude Code or Codex session is running, then sleeps normally the moment the work is done. Marathon test runs and overnight refactors finish on their own.
- Notifications — get pinged the instant a session finishes or needs your input, on your Mac, Telegram, or Slack — across the terminal, VS Code, and JetBrains, with an "only when away" mode.
- Defaults from the menu bar — set model, permission mode, effort, and thinking mode from the menu; applied to your next session by surgically editing each tool's own config file (byte-preserving, atomic, backed up).
- Usage at a glance — track per-model Claude and Codex plan usage in the menu and the menu bar icon, with a heads-up before you cross a threshold you set.
- Private by design — runs entirely on-device; no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry. Read-only Keychain access for usage is off by default and requires your consent.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Universal (Apple silicon & Intel).
